How To Make Cortadito Coffee?

To warm the cups that you will be using for the coffee, heat a bit of hot water from your kettle. These will keep your coffee hotter for longer.

The first one to two ounces of espresso will have oozed into your top chamber after about five minutes. The pot should be taken off the stove. To continue brewing, pour the coffee in the jug and add the sugar.
A slow and gentle brewing process is best. Turn the heat down if your coffee is bubbling or spitting.
Take a spoon and combine the sugar and coffee. This should be done vigorously. You should get a light brown, fluffy mixture after a few minutes.
- Step 5: Mix the Sugar Mixture with the Rest of The Coffee
After the coffee is done brewing, add the sugar mixture to the jug. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely and froth appears. This is called “espuma”.

What’s the difference between Cortado and Cortadito?
Cortado, a Spanish or Portuguese type of coffee that uses double espresso and steamed water in equal amounts, is served in a small glass. Cortadito, a Cuban coffee that uses presweetened espresso and steamed evaporated dairy in equal amounts, is served with espuma (whipped cream) and espresso.
